Earthenware jar

At the end, we have our large earthenware jar. After preparing a strong foundations, where the jar will be sited, it arrived!. The work was quick and easy because operators had a lot of practice. The jar was perfectly put in its base.

It is made of concrete and it has  a capacity of 18,000 liters. We are going to use a tank trailer and a pump to fill it up because where it is located we don't have water pipe. We are going to use it to water our vegetable garden and fill up our sprayer in spraying time.

We have to install taps now but we will talk about in next posts.

Harrowing vineyard

As I showed you before, we visited our cousin in the vineyard. We don't have any vineyards, but we thought that publishing a few posts about vineyard works could be interesting for you. Because you can know them and mainly our followers aren't from Spain who can follow them. Vineyard plant is very common in Spain, this is the reason why Spanish farmers are one of the most important producers of wine in the world.

In Spain there are a lot of varieties and sorts of vineyard. We would like to recommend wines from Castilla-La Mancha. We have to say they aren't the best, but they have a really high quality with a reasonable price. Castilla-La Mancha is the area with most vineyards in the world, they are located especially in Ciudad Real.

We show a few pictures about vineyard. We think they are really nice!. You can see the Kubota ME8200 works with cultichissel. This cultichissel has a hydraulic system which allows to regulate its working width. As you can see in our video, the cultichissel has to work very near of vinestock to kill weeds.

You can see a video from our YouTube channel.

Vegetable garden: installing drip irrigation system

After we spreaded manure and a few rainy days later, we have to continue with our works in our vegetable garden. We have to bury manure, so we first used our miniplough (sorry, but we don't have any pictures about that) and after that we used our chissel. When the soil was ready, we installed drip irrigation system, what helps us to save water.

We also have to prepare seeds to sow them in next days. We tell you, our tomato plans are growing very quickly, so they will be transplanted during the following days, too. We share a few pictures about our beans...they have a really nice color.

You can find information of garden irrigation planning guide from here.

Vegetable garden: Starting with spreading manure

It is time to start with our vegetable garden. We cultivate a small vegetable garden every year where we plant tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, watermelons, pumpkins, zucchini, peppers, beans, eggplant, carrots and beets. It is for household consumption, so we don't sell anything... sometimes, we give our friends some tomatoes.

Logically, the first steps are related to soil preparation and after that we have to plant. For this, we spreaded enough manure. Our vegetable garden is absolutely green, so we cannot use other type of fertilizers. This work was funny, but the smell was not very nice.

Our tomato plants are still not prepared to be transplanted, so we will have to wait few days in order to have our first plants in our vegetable garden....of course, our beans were sowed in December, so we have something of them in our kitchen table.
