Duran Days. New Pöttinger Series Round Balers and McHale Series Mowers

About 3,000 people attended the event organized by Durán Maquinaria Agrícola Company in Santervás de Campos (Valladolid) where they could see almost all farming machinery this company import for Spanish farmers (Pöttinger, McHale, Pichón and Caruelle).

The demostration began with Pöttinger machinery of tillage and seed drills. Attendees saw different TERRADISC disc harrows working, SYNKRO stubble cultivator, SERVO plough together with AEROSEM and TERRASEM seed drills... the main disc was the new Pöttinger IMPRESS Series round balers. There are two models: MASTER and PRO. The Master model is designed for farmers and small outsourcing companies. On the other hand, the PRO model is ideal for big outsourcing companies. Finally, farmers could see the Pöttinger NOVACAT mower.

The workday continued with another important brand called McHale. The Fusion 3Plus and V640 round baler were working. Obviously, the main novelty showed by McHale was the new front and rear mowers PRO GLIDE (they have just begun to sell in Spain).

In the end, attendees could enjoy with Caruelle sprayers (OLYMPIA 400 AND OLYMPIA 600) that worked at 36m, slurry spreaders and muck spreader manufactured by a French brand called Pichón.

Fodder and silage... the Irish specialist

It is time for fodder and silage works. During this spring, it has been raining and as you can see in our pictures, crops are really good and farmers think that this year there will be a great campaign...  they are good news for farmers.

Our followers Jesús Cantalejo (from Carriches - Toledo) sent us some pictures about his silage tasks working with a McHale Fusion3 Plus Integrated Baler Wrappers...obviously,  it is one of the best baler for these tasks. The Irish McHale company (Castlebar Road, Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo, Ireland) is pretty specialist in fodder baler and they have an important prestige so their machinery is a good choose to have an excellent silo. Farmers get a good harvesting this year with amounts of 25,000kg/he of triticale and about 6,000kg/he of vetch. These figures are really very good.

The McHale Fusion 3 Plus integrated baler wrapper consists of an 18 roller fixed chamber baler and an integrated vertical wrapping ring. It uses Film on Film technology to apply film to the barrel of the bale in the bale chamber. It is a fully automatic machine which is controlled by the McHale iTouch Control Unit. McHale developed a patented application system which adjusts the breaking force on the roll of plastic in-line with working conditions and allows for a continuously variable stretch, which can adjust to changes in the day automatically without the operator having to adjust any settings. About Film on film technology, the film binds the bale together as it passes from the baler to the bale wrapper, which eliminates the need for string or net wrap. The film that binds the bale together forms a wrap layer and gives better film or plastic coverage on the largest surface of the bale.

The advantages of McHale system are:

• Chamber Film Acts As A Wrapping Layer. The plastic which is added to the barrel of the bale to keep the bale together as the bale passes from the baler to the wrapper also forms part of the wrapping process and adds value by placing more plastic on the largest surface of the bale.
• Chamber Film Results In Better Shaped Bales. When plastic is applied to the barrel of the bale it can be stretched to approximately 20%. The stretch ratio is higher than what can be achieved with net wrap or twine and as a result the material is kept tighter, which ultimately results in better bale shape.
• Chamber Film Delivers Higher Quality Silage. As the plastic is being stretched as it is being applied to the barrel of the bale it expels more air than net wrap would and as a consequence results in better silage quality.
• Chamber Film Makes Recycling Easier. As plastic is used to both bind the bale in the bale chamber and to wrap the bale, on feed out the farmer will be left with one form of waste. This reduces the time needed to feed the bale and avoids the unpleasant and time consuming job of separating the twine or net wrap from the plastic before the plastic is to be recycled.

FIMA 2016. Durán Maquinaria Agrícola S.L.

Whenever we visit the Durán Maquinaria Agrícola S.L. stand we feel at home. The fact is that meeting Antonio, Alberto,… is a great pleasure. Besides, they show us their machinery.

Durán Maquinaria Agrícola introduced their the most important brands that they commercialize: Pöttinger, Mc​H​ale, Pichón and Caruelle. Without any doubt all of them are brands of great standing.

We could see the complete range of Pöttinger implements: soil preparation, seed drill machine and ​grassland machine… that is the key product of Durán Maquinaria Agrícola and one of the best brands of the market. Last summer, we speak about the Pöttinger Terradisc 3501 disc harrow… In FIMA we could see the disc harrow Terradisc 6001 T, which has 6 working meters, equipped with a transport chassis, needs less power than the same attached model. The Aerosem seed drill machines are also a product that we would like to highlight… Hopefully, we could test that machine working and therefore we could share our impressions with you, our followers.

As well, they had a large variety of Caruelle sprayer. It is clear that they are machines of high quality designed for the most demanding farmers. The Pichon slurry tankers surprised us for their size and robustness. Regarding the McHale Variable Chamber Round Baler​,​ the more we see, the more we like. You can find different configurations and different sizes for any kind of explotation. As you can see in our pictures, the machines are of high quality and besides they are supported by a really good after-sales service.
