This week, we continue with cereal tasks. We are talking about one of the last summer tasks. In an old post we wrote about Arcusin trailer and we commented the picking up bales. In this post, we would like to explain baling. This year, Rosado brothers baled all of our straw, so we shared with them good moments and we could learn something about their job.
As you can see in our pictures and video, they worked with a John Deere 7720 and a New Holland B9934A BigBaler. It is true that the tractor's sound revealed the strong job that it was carrying out. From inside the cab, we could see when the baler passed straw from pre-compression chamber to bale chamber, the engine went down about 200r.p.m. (from 1,800r.p.m. to 1,600r.p.m.).
The baler's computer manages all the machine parameters, so this job is easy... However, it can sometimes get stuck, specially when it is working with wheat or triticale straw, but it doesn't cause a big problem. The JD (it has over 13,000 working hours) togerher with the New Holland BigBaler (it has made over 93,000 bales... over 30,000 bales this campaign) are the perfect machinery for them, since they need to provide good service for a lot of farmers in our village and other near villages.
