Demoagro 2019

Demoagro, without a doubt, is a paradise for machinery lovers, farmers who want to try and test machinery before buying, farmers who want to have a contact beyond their dealer... you can't ask for more... we can't wait any more. In its 4th edition, Demoagro had about 22,000 attendees who could see and enjoy three days agricultural fair, more than 800 machines from a hundred international and Spanish brands thanks to the 53 exhibitors who were there, you can see the previous editions in these links: 2017, 2015 and 2013.

The organization and distribution of the agricultural fair was really great, being on this occasion in a single ring which made the visit much more accessible to all exhibitors. The fair had a smaller land area than in previous editions, but we consider it was enough. Specialized Demorecollection machinery was located on the outside of the ring that formed the agricultural fair. In the inner part of the ring were the areas for the common demonstrations and an intermediate area were dedicated to the demosuelo. This was undoubtedly a very good distribution of the agricultural fair.

As for the exposed machinery, you continue with the keynote of past editions where all the manufacturers take advantage to show all their power. Possibly too much big (and expensive) machinery for the poor agriculture that we generally have in our country ... I think we saw almost no machinery that can be useful on our farm. Special mention also goes to the tractors of the Argo group. It was noticeable that it was their first year and they wanted to cause a stir ... from the first hour of the fair were all tractors in motion ... not as in other plots where you breathed a fairly passive environment.

Another thing we loved were the common demonstrations, but specially the demo that was the only one we could see. You could see how each implement and each tractor worked and you could even feel the competitiveness among the manufacturers... it was very nice. Perhaps, for future editions, this type of action should be encouraged more by setting clearer rules, so that all tractors are of similar power and all implements are of similar characteristics. Taking this premise into account, we could compare which implement and which tractor works best as the ground is prepared for testing, which is not the case in the different exhibitor fields, since once the implement has passed several times, the ground is not ideal for watching it work (for example, in the field of JCB Fastrac, it makes no sense to see a Pöttinger harrow disc working where the soil is completely ground and also worked at about 5km/h). Therefore, please encourage more common demonstrations but with tighter rules so that you can see a great show between manufacturers. It can also be applied to demonstrations of baling with round balers, belt balers and big balers, direct and conventional sowing, minimum tillage implements, subsoilers tasks, tasks with mowers, round bale wrappers, handling bales, etc.

But as usual, it is very difficult for everything to be ideal. And with this aim, we had the feeling that the fair is not fully established with a resounding success. We had the pleasure of enjoying the second and third day of the edition. On the second day in the morning, the fair had a good number of visitors but in the afternoon it all stood still and on the second day something similar happened. Perhaps the poor area of restaurants and catering establishments influences a lot because people are going to eat and have a hard time coming back. On the other hand, we believe that the spirit of Demoagro is to see the machines in movement and some exhibitors had a lot of machinery stopped at the exhibition... for that event we will already go to FIMA. So maybe, if a lot of static machinery was rejected and that money was invested in "ham", the exhibitors' plots wouldn not be empty and people would be much more attracted to stay and watch machinery at work. This is simply a humble opinion in case it can help the organization in any way.

Finally, I would like to thank all the exhibitors because they all wanted to solve any doubt, the attention was exquisite and everyone wanted to make the fair as attractive as possible for the visitors. An absolutely recommendable farm fair!
